H.W.C 2008

Finally , just came back from Holiday Work Camp held at Sek Kia Eenh Temple , a 8 days 7 nights Buddhist camp , but I came on the 2nd day morning because of my trip to Singapore.

Overall , the camp was ok , but cannot really compare to the previous years , last time was wild crazy and fun , at the same time super pek cik . However , for this one, it was a bit disappointing , don't really know what's the reason. Is either :
i. I'm too old for this camp already
ii. 99% of the participants are younger than me
iii. A lot of first timer
iv. A few special participants ( Really very special )
v. Not cooperative
vi. Participants a lot of problem
vii. Not much bond between friends
viii. My leader should put more effort ( Vice captain was good )
ix. Not wild enough ( All macam mau mati like that )
x. Kena scolding like crazy
xi. New committee board
xii. Don't have the atmosphere of competing

Maybe these are the few reasons i can think of for now , committee done a great job in conducting the camp , can see that they put a lot of effort to build up this camp not to let the camp down . Job well done !

This year , once again , my team Ming Ti won the overall champ , it was a bit out of expectation , thought i'm going to lose in HWC for the first time . Haha.. but to me , Asoka was definitely better than Ming Ti. Why ? More sporting , stronger (physically) , more cooperative , crazier , wilder , bla bla bla bla... Ours a bit weak la , we depend a lot more on strategies...

However , being in this camp , i need to admit something, really too old for this camp already . I'm a lot slower than last time already , especially when the time I need to go under the bench , it was terrible , so hard to masuk man , den don't really have the drive to bia like crazy .. Most of the time I stand there and observe how the things go ..
One more thing I realize this time, maybe because I became the leader of Asoka in 2006 , I tend to control the Ming Ti group also, dunno y .. luckily no one complain about me , at least not in front of me..haha..

This time I try and change my role in the camp , I'm always the one being the one on stage , I tried to be the one at backstage , or maybe known as " the one behind the scene " . It was really hard for me to do that , i try to something only , my member straight away say " 你真的没有艺术感 " , really zha dao man .. i also don't really know how to do all the crops everything , I only know how to plan and tell people what to do , when come to this kind of thing , is really not under my field. I got fed up , decide to go back and perform again =.="
Usually people only see the one performing , the job of the one at backstage is not really rewarding , but they are the great ones !

Heard for the 1st day of camp , the whole camp was super boring , they didn't really do anything. Everyone was like complaining and wanted to go back home , the mood aint there. I reach the camp at the 2nd day of camp , the chairperson , Shamus straight away come and find me , he told me " Guan Han , the team this time very boring , you try and do something bout it " . Well , I did put a lot of effort in making things heat up , keep on giving so call " Motivation Talks " to them , I think it helps la , at least make them cheer for their team , let them go crazy. And Ming Ti really sapu all the categories on that day , from day time telematch and night time debate . I took part in the debate also , being in the opposition team with the title " Alcohols should be banned " . Was quite an easy fight and we won that round , and i got a award of being " the coolest speaker " =.=" My partners were Andy and Soon Jo Ann , Jo Ann was good , very well prepared and a lot of points..haha..
